Journey of Motherhood | a reflection

On this Mother's Day we are reminded of the significant, beautiful women who have nurtured us, supported us and loved us unconditionally.

For this celebration we grasp the opportunity to express with intention - simple words of gratitude and love for the women we hold dear.

The journey of motherhood creates familiar bonds between generations. The love, sacrifice, and nurture that is imparted without measure through mothering - and often through special mother figures - is inexplicably strong. A bond that extends into the supportive, intuitive care structure which we long for and need.

Today is a time to remember a mother’s love, reflect on tender stories, as we cherish the women and give thanks for those whom we call “Mum”.

Two such beautiful women in our Saddler & Co team (raising no less than eleven children between them!) are the sisters, Jemima and Beth. Jemima is our brand and creative director here at Saddler and Co. While Beth, who has been a great supporter of the brand for many years, now looks after our storeroom, quality checking department, ensuring every single Saddler & Co piece is sent out with care.

Together they share in the wonder and challenges of motherhood. In our Mother’s Day campaign, we pictured Jemima & Beth situated in our local countryside region of Dubbo NSW.

This was a special shoot - capturing kindred moments with a few of their children, who have been known to see their aunties as a second mum.

Jemima is pictured here with youngest son and nieces by her side — wearing the Classic Tote — always a staple. Jemima and Beth are also seen wearing the NEW Saddle Mini bag that is fast becoming a favourite item in our wardrobe. A new feature for Mother’s Day 2023, the workshop has been taking orders and crafting this new piece in black and cognac leathers. Keep your eye open for new colours releasing in coming months.

We love how the Mini Saddle Bag design keeps the essentials by our side, with hands free for the important little people in our lives.

Mothering is a nurturing embrace, a safe and tender touch to guide us through life's ups and downs.
