Wrapup of the year 2024

On the eve of a new year we reflect on all that 2024 held for Saddler & Co.

Firstly, we express gratitude to our small but mighty artisan team. Together we have upheld a high level of dedication across the Saddler & Co brand this year and we can assure you of the love and care that goes into the making of each piece, down to the despatch and wrapping of orders day by day.
As we wrap up the year, reflecting on all that 2024 held for Saddler & Co, we're easing into a quiet yet celebratory finish, with anticipation for all that next year will hold.

A heartfelt THANK YOU for your ongoing support and encouragement in 2024. Your belief in Australian made and supporting small business means the world to us.

Beautiful leather goods are made in the workshop, proudly crafted in the Australian country. Each element is attended to by our small team of artisans — from the moment a new batch of leather hides is rolled out, hand selected for each design, to the elements of hardware, stitching, and finishing.

"We purposefully create pieces you can use from one year to the next."

This year we have enjoyed designing and releasing Special Edition products such as the Classic and Market Totes in Tan leather, the 'Bramble' range, while also introducing the Phone Bag, Box bag, and the sold out Ladies Classic Wallet.
It is a joy to see these pieces out in the world, treasured for daily life. We will keep you updated with new batch releases in 2025.

After picking up the saddler’s tools over twenty years ago, the joy of leather craftsmanship remains vibrant here in our little workshop and store.

Born from a desire to pass on old fashioned quality and beautiful products from one generation to the next, Saddler & Co pieces have accompanied numerous moments of 2024.

What is the best part about working with a premium leather? It is the natural beauty, the inherent story of a material that changes into a character all its own. It is the enchanting way no two pieces are ever the same. It is the strength and structure that can be maintained and restored many times over.

This year Bede has been working on a home workshop, a Saddler's Atelier of sorts.
A cosy place where he can continue to experiment, design new products, and customise his range of heirloom saddlery.

We are excited for how this workshop will allow the legacy of an old trade to live on - breathing new life into our signature range while working around our family - in the spirit of our first home workshop that we opened back in 2010.

This year we have enjoyed taking our brand on the road, visiting Sydney and Melbourne at the Big Design Market. It’s always wonderful to meet and connect face to face. In 2025 we look forward to sharing more of such events to put on your calendar, where you can meet Bede and see our goods in person.
This year has seen our team expand our capacity for corporate branding and customised leather goods. We've had the pleasure of crafting items for a raft of Australian businesses seeking authentic touch points to their brand presence.
Just down the road, it's been a beautiful year for Jemima with the establishment of her new venture Foray - connecting people to the goal of artful interiors through curating, procurement, and styling services. We invite you to explore the design and interiors store that compliments the Saddler & Co ethos by browsing the Foray website here.

'My work reveres tradition and age old craftsmanship, while it contemplates the intrigue of modern romanticism and artistic form,' reflects Jemima.
