Saddler & Co is pleased to present this special edition bag. With all the design genetics of the Classic Tote, the modern formality of the polished buckles contrasts with the subtle, understated look of nubuck leather. The result of these elements creates a special look which is out of reach of a standard smooth, waxed finish leather.   

The Nutmeg leather is rather humble and unperturbed in nature, yet the subtlety of the finish exudes a beauty of tactility pleasant to the touch. This new sister to the Classic Tote bears a simplicity that is resolved and lives this humble trait in a way all of its own.

Nutmeg is a warm tone with rambling notes of texture, allowing it to be more adaptable to the owner's wardrobe.

This tote is made to be worn with ease. You will be able to observe the nuance of the leather nap finish slowly meld, wearing into a lovely, burnished patina over the years.

  • Quality brass hardware, attached by hand sewn leather  
  • Adjustable leather straps for comfort, hand-held or over-shoulder wear 
  • Generous internal zip pocket and two small pouch pockets 
  • Measures: 32 cm high, 26 cm wide at base, 39 cm wide at top, 11 cm deep

Maker Notes: 

The key to this design is allowing large leather panels to shine, along with the feature buckles. There is no busyness to the classic tote. The bag is formed through stitching around the base, and then at the side seams, showcasing the panels in a clear and flowing form. There is not even a line of stitching at the top to mar the clear aesthetic. The internal pocket is secured within the tote, with no visible seams on the outside of the Tote.

 

    Care notes: There is no need to treat this leather delicately as it is durable and designed to be easy to care for, with simply a wipe clean and soft brush to restore the leather fibres from time to time.

    The Nutmeg is a warm, golden brown.
    This leather contains natural oils which means the leather is extremely durable, stain repellent, and made to withstand constant use without damage, only requiring a soft cloth to clean and maintain its beautiful finish.
    Over time a distinctive, supple sheen that will stay beautiful through the years develops.

    Each hide of leather has its own characteristic markings and tone, and thus each one of our leather goods will be unique and individual.

    Every item is uniquely designed, prepared, cut, sewn, finished, and packaged in-house by our dedicated team. We source only the finest leathers, and grade them in house for each product.

    As a brand we value supporting local businesses and other makers. Most of packaging, including boxes & print material, is made in Australia and completely recyclable.

    The Saddler & Co range is limited in nature, made in small batches at a time. If your preferred item has sold out and specifies "PRE-ORDER" this means there will be a lead time on your order. A pre-order product will be scheduled for our next production run and we will update you on the approximate completion date.
