The essence of this bag is defined by a premium Australian leather crafted into our original, signature design.

Our best selling bag, beloved by many since its launch in 2014, is sought after for its elegant style and timeless design. The Black leather is a gorgeous natural black with a subtle sheen to the shadowy depth of tone.   

The Classic Tote bag is designed to function perfectly on a daily basis. There is room for a clutch, notebook, pens and phone, small laptop or office essentials. You may like to carry your lunch to work or keep your book at hand within a bag design which is both accessible and pleasingly simple. 

This timeless leather bag was inspired by our love for the simple joys: a good book, fresh coffee, gatherings of friends in a sun drenched corner of a favourite cafe.

Each tote is handcrafted with care by our team, made in small batches. Featuring solid brass or stainless steel buckles stitched onto adjustable straps for strength and durability. Our original design is the perfect showcase for the supple, full grain leather.

There is an opulent structure to this new leather, tanned right here in Australia, while yet maintaining its honest appeal. The natural raw edges give a touch of authenticity and the waxed finish has excellent durability. This is indicative of a special piece that will not date with the passage of time. 

In addition, the design features an additional pair of plaited leather straps as interchangeable handles. You can purchase the Extra Plaited shoulder straps HERE.

The leather handles are our signature design, featuring adjustable length settings and exchanging easily with the NEW plaited leather straps. The plaited handle is specially made from one piece of leather with no obvious end or beginning, a ‘secret plait’. The design is a familiar nod to our saddlery trade, in the same way that we might plait a pair of bridle reins.

This is an elegant and versatile bag that will grow in beautiful character. Each tote is entirely made from full grain leather - handcrafted by our artisan team in Dubbo, Australia.

The Black leather is a stunning, natural leather which reveals undertones of ink, charcoal, and aniseed. There is a subtle matte sheen to the shadowy depth of leather tone.

Each hide of leather has its own characteristic markings and tone, and thus each one of our leather goods will be unique and individual.

Made in Australia. Each one of our leather goods is designed & handcrafted personally by the Saddler & Co workshop situated in Dubbo, Australia.

Every item is uniquely designed, prepared, cut, sewn, finished, and packaged in-house by our dedicated team. We source only the finest leathers, and grade them in house for each product.

As a brand we value supporting local businesses and other makers. Most of packaging, including boxes & print material, is made in Australia and completely recyclable.

The Saddler & Co range is limited in nature, made in small batches at a time. If your preferred item has sold out and specifies "PRE-ORDER" this means there will be a lead time on your order. A pre-order product will be scheduled for our next production run and we will update you on the approximate completion date.
